Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information: your name, email address, and a securely hashed password when you create an account.
• Profile information: display name, bio, title, pronouns, focus areas, avatar and cover images, and an optional phone number if you choose to provide one for reminders.
• Activity and progress: challenges you join, check-ins, completions, skips, streaks, XP, levels, badges, and level-up proof you upload.
• Social content: friend connections, direct messages, feed posts, comments, reactions, and any photos or media you share.
• AI companion conversations: messages you exchange with Sage, our in-app AI assistant, and a running summary used to provide continuity.
• Technical information: IP address, device and browser type, and session data used to keep you signed in, plus aggregate, privacy-friendly usage analytics.

How we use your information

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Service and your account.
• Track your growth journey — streaks, XP, levels, badges, and progress over time.
• Enable social features such as friends, leaderboards, the community feed, and direct messaging.
• Power the Sage AI companion and, when you request it, generate profile and banner images from the prompts you provide.
• Send reminders and notifications you have enabled.
• Protect the Service, prevent abuse, and comply with the law.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf so the Service can function:

• Vercel — application hosting, file storage (Vercel Blob), and aggregate analytics.
• Neon — our managed PostgreSQL database.
• AI providers — when you chat with Sage or generate an image, the text of your prompt is sent to a third-party AI model provider to produce the response. Do not share sensitive information in AI conversations.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Service.

Other users and visibility

By default your profile, progress, and public feed posts are visible to other members, and members can send you messages. You can switch your profile to a private (friends-only) mode, hide yourself from the global leaderboard, and choose the visibility of individual posts in your account settings.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings or by visiting ascendpga.com/delete-account. Deleting your account removes your profile, activity, social content, messages, AI conversations, and uploaded media. This action is immediate and irreversible.

Security

Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing, data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and uploaded media is served through authenticated, access-controlled links. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information using reasonable safeguards.

Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. You can exercise most of these directly in the app, or contact us for help.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice within the Service.
